THE TORBAY ROYAL REGATTA 10Km
on SUNDAY 24th August 2008 @ 7:00pm

This is an exciting course with panoramic coastal sea views of Torbay.

Starts by the Pavilion, by Torquay Harbour.

The course is mostly flat with a few undulating hill

Course heads toward Paignton Seafront, with 2 laps of Paignton Green before heading back to finish on Corbyn Head in Torquay

The Torbay Royal Regatta 10k takes place on Sunday August 24th  sponsored by dorunning com, Gowmans Solicitors and Winners Fitness 2000 
Ltd. Bank holiday weekend, this will be a busy weekend in Torbay and we are looking forward exciting Royal Regatta with many events planned 
including the world famous Red Arrow Display Team and a spectacular firework display

This year for the first time we will be holding a Regatta party for the runners and rowers taking part in the Regatta. The party will be 
held at the harbour side marquee, Saturday 23rd 7.30 pm till late, live band and disco entry is open to all 10k runners with race number and

RACE H.Q. & LATE ENTRIES: - The Riviera Centre Chestnut Avenue Torquay.

CAR PARKIN G: -Is available near the seafront, at Shedon Hill, the Pavilion and in the Riviera Centre.

CHANGING FACILITIES: -Showers and changing facilities are available in the Riviera Centre. Kit bags may also be left here in personal lockers with a deposit of £1.

NUMBERS: -Your race number must be worn on the front of your vest and be visible at all times during the race. Any attempts to reduce the size or alter the race number will result in disqualification. You will not be permitted to finish with out an official number.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS: -If you have any Medical condition can you ensure that this is written on the back of your race number with any medication that you take and an emergency contact phone number. St Johns Ambulance will provide the Medical cover.

START: - We will start the race at 7:00 p.m; assemble outside the Pavilion shopping centre at 6:55 p.m. The start is approximately ¾ mile from race H.Q. (please allow time to get to the start).

COURSE: -Shown on the map – It is undulating and runs from Torquay to Paignton, with two laps of Paignton Green before returning to Torquay. Mile markers are placed at every mile. Please follow Police and Marshall instructions.

WATER STATION: -One water station is placed so it is passed twice (at Preston Green just under the bridge).

FINISH: -On Corbyn Head, this is the grass headland near the Grand Hotel. Beware of the stone edging on the grass headland as you enter the finish area.

PRESENTATION: -Will take place in the Riviera Centre at approximately 8:45 p.m. The bar will be open for drinks and light refreshments.
